Terms of Service

By accessing or using Kydel (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. We reserve the right to update these terms at any time; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

Kydel is a free grocery price-comparison tool that calculates your Net Effective Price (NEP) — the cost of a grocery item after applying flyer sale discounts, credit card cashback, and loyalty point values based on your selections.

Grocery Deals
Deal information displayed in Kydel is sourced from publicly available weekly flyer circulars published by Canadian retailers. We use a combination of manual review and automated tools to extract factual data — product names, prices, discount amounts, and validity dates — and present it in a convenient format. Original flyer materials are processed temporarily and are not stored or redistributed. All data represents publicly advertised facts (prices and product names), which are not subject to copyright under Canadian law.

Credit Card Information
Credit card reward rates, annual fees, and category benefits are sourced from publicly available product information published by Canadian financial institutions on their public product pages. This information is updated regularly but may not reflect the most recent changes to card terms. Always verify current terms directly with your card issuer before making financial decisions.

Product Images
Product images shown in Kydel are for illustration purposes only and may not represent the exact product, packaging, or brand appearance available in-store. Some images are sourced from public product databases (such as Open Food Facts, used under the Open Database License), while others are generated using AI tools to represent general product categories. These images are intended to help you identify product types — they are not a guarantee of the actual product you will find at a retailer.

Important Limitations

• Prices and deals shown may change without notice and may vary by store location
• Kydel does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any displayed information
• Retailer promotions are subject to the retailer’s own terms and conditions
• Credit card benefits are subject to your individual cardholder agreement
• Kydel is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any retailer or financial institution listed in the app

By using Kydel, you consent to the collection and use of information as described in these Terms and our Privacy Policy. Specifically:

• We collect minimal personal information (email, postal code, card selections) to provide personalised pricing
• We use anonymous analytics to improve the app experience
• We do not sell your personal information or use it for advertising
• You may withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account or contacting us

Prices displayed in Kydel are sourced from publicly available store flyers and may not reflect real-time in-store prices. Actual prices may vary by store location, stock availability, or promotional timing. Kydel makes no guarantee that the prices shown are accurate, current, or complete. Always verify prices at the point of sale before making a purchase decision.

All prices displayed in Kydel are pre-tax amounts as advertised in retailer flyer circulars. Most basic groceries in Canada are zero-rated for GST/HST. However, certain product categories (including snacks, carbonated beverages, prepared foods, and non-food items) may be subject to applicable federal and provincial sales taxes at checkout. Kydel does not calculate or display sales tax.

The Net Effective Price, cashback calculations, and loyalty point valuations provided by Kydel are estimates for informational purposes only and do not constitute financial, investment, or legal advice. Card earn rates, point values, monthly caps, and store eligibility rules change frequently. Verify current terms directly with your card issuer or loyalty program.

Cashback and rewards calculations are based on the earn rates and point values entered into our database. These values may be out-of-date. Kydel is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any credit card issuer, bank, or loyalty program operator. Actual rewards earned depend on your individual card agreement and applicable terms.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree not to share your account or use another user’s account. We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these terms.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable Canadian law.
• Attempt to scrape, reverse-engineer, or copy our flyer data or price database for commercial use.
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
• Submit false information or impersonate another person.

All content, design, and source code of the Kydel application (excluding third-party libraries) is owned by Kydel and protected by Canadian copyright law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without prior written consent.

Grocery product names, store names, and brand marks referenced in flyer data are the property of their respective owners. Kydel displays this information for informational comparison purposes.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Kydel and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, including but not limited to lost savings, purchasing decisions made based on displayed prices, or any errors in cashback/rewards calculations.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising under these terms shall not exceed CAD $0 (the Service is provided free of charge).

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for any reason, including violation of these terms, without prior notice. You may delete your account at any time through the Profile settings.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario.
